The Badge was originally created back in 1991 to try and inform and unify RAF PTIs and our specialist friends and comrades, we were fortunate enough at that time to be able to get our magazines printed by the superb RPC located at Cosford.
Then in 2013 a newsletter was designed and after proof reading the newsletter was sent out mainly by email, and hard copy for those who did not have an email address.
Phil Moyse was elected as the editor and continued to provide ‘The Badge’ on a regular basis for Association members to read and keep up to date with current events/issues, but decided to stand down from this role in early 2022.
We give our deep appreciation for the sterling work Phil did during his tenure as editor.
Les Hammond took up the role of Editor in 2023 as part of the new role of Communications Officer for the Association.
As well as the regular issue of The Badge an additional publication is now in use, The Badge Bullet which is designed to circulate information to the membership between normal newsletter issues to avoid members experiencing delays in learning about time specific sensitive events or information. The Badge Bullet is circulated on an ‘as required’ basis.
For articles of interest for inclusion in The Badge or The Badge Bullet please contact the Communications Officer, Les Hammond on ptiassthebadge24@gmail.com or 07969865783.
